Experience & Background
I have over 20 years experience as a psychotherapist and couples counsellor.
I completed my studies in Integrative Psychotherapy in 1999 in Dublin, Ireland, and shortly afterwards set up my own private practice. During my initial years as a therapist I continued my education, and completed many other courses, such as solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and couples therapy. As a therapist I believe we need to be constantly open to new ways of working with people, in our ever changing environment and society. I run workshops on many topics, such as self confidence, mindfulness, self compassion and cognitive tools. I have also developed training programs for therapists in integrative couples counselling.

After a number of years running my own practice in Dublin I moved to Italy, where I had my own consultancy for ten years. I am presently living and practicing psychotherapy in Madrid for the last six years.
An integrative approach to therapy, allows me to draw on many skills
that help the client explore issues in a new way. Integrative counselling is one of the most effective forms of therapy. I believe that there is no single approach that is suitable for every client; each person is unique and distinctive, and therefore a wide variety of skills is necessary to work with a variety of people. The techniques I use are based on a broad range of methods, such as Cognitive behavioural therapy, Internal family systems, Gestalt, compassionate based therapy and others.
Although Individual Therapy forms the foundation for most therapies, Couples Counselling requires a very specific approach. The focus of the therapy is on the relationship, rather than the individual.
I provide a supportive, non-judgmental atmosphere where you are free to express any issues in complete confidentiality. Seeking help, and being willing to explore, is always a positive step.
